City Center is a 51 story, 1.6 million square foot office and retail building located in the heart of the Minneapolis 64 square block skyway system. Designed by world-class architects Skidmore Owings and Merrill, the building was constructed and opened in 1983 and is presently the fourth tallest office tower in Minneapolis. Major tenants include Target Corporation, Meagher & Geer PLLP, Korn Ferry, Fox Rothschild and many other prominent organizations.
The office tower’s unique concrete core design provides nearly one-half acre of column-free space on each floor and affords maximum flexibility in tenant layouts.
In 2003, the building completed a renovation of the office tower entrance, lobby and retail areas. This renovation included the refinishing of major common areas, dramatic lighting enhancements and prominent building signage.
In 2020, City Center completed a renovation of the 7th and Nicollet corner. Over 300,000 pounds of precast concrete was removed to make way for a much more aesthetically pleasing design.
Adjoining City Center is the newly (2020) remodeled Minneapolis Marriott, a 583 room, Four Diamond destination hotel. This complex comprises nearly two city blocks in the center of downtown Minneapolis.
As a City Center tenant, you are an important part of this vital and dynamic complex. We know that you will be as proud as we are to have City Center as your business address.
